Date Difference Calculator
Choose a start date and an end date to see the calendar difference between them, along with the total elapsed time.
Your calculation is performed in your browser. How it works
The calculator finds the calendar difference (years, months, days) between your two dates, and separately reports the total elapsed days — two related but distinct figures.
Formula & methodology
"Calendar difference" counts full years, then full months, then full days between the dates. "Total elapsed days" is the exact number of days between the two dates, with no rounding.
Worked example
From June 1, 2023 to September 13, 2026 is 3 years, 3 months, and 12 days — 1,200 total days.
Important notes
- —If you enter the end date before the start date, the calculator still works and clearly notes that the dates were reversed.
- —"Calendar difference" and "total elapsed days" answer different questions and are both shown to avoid confusion.
