Does the start date count as day one?

No. The calculator counts forward (or backward) from the start date, so the start date itself is not included in the number of business days entered.

What happens to weekends?

Saturdays and Sundays are always skipped and never counted toward the number of business days you enter.

How it works

Starting from your chosen date, the calculator steps forward (or backward) one calendar day at a time, skipping every Saturday and Sunday, until it has counted the requested number of business days.

Formula & methodology

Result date = start date shifted by N business days, where only Monday–Friday days are counted toward N and weekends are always skipped over.

Worked example

Starting from Friday, September 18, 2026 and adding 3 business days lands on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 (skipping the weekend in between).
