The calculator steps through every calendar day between your two dates (inclusive of both) and counts how many fall on a Monday through Friday, separately from those that fall on a Saturday or Sunday.
Formula & methodology
Both the start and end dates are included. Every Saturday and Sunday in the range is treated as a weekend day. Public holidays are not excluded, so subtract them yourself if they apply.
Total days
Total days = (End date − Start date) + 1Working days

Worked example
From Monday, September 14, 2026 to Friday, September 18, 2026 is 5 working days out of 5 total days.
Common uses

Important notes
- —This calculator counts Monday–Friday only; it does not account for public holidays, since holiday calendars vary by country and organization.
- —Both the start and end date are counted if they themselves are weekdays.
